One crowded hour of glorious life, Geoff?

Give up everything that you enjoy - you make not live longer, but it will seem like it.

Yep, both My Nan and Grandad had a bottle of guiness everynight, and my nan had a glass of boiled cooled water every morning and both had a bowl of Porridge. My grandad drove and kept pigs but he had a couple of near misses in his car so he gave up driving, which meant he had to give up his pigs, and he died a few months later aged 90. and my Nan died age 96. They both worked very hard all their lives, and now I am crying as I miss them so much. My Nan died 2 months before I gave birth to my little girl, so I felt she missed out. but I think she is looking down on us all.

It just goes to show that drink does not have to ruin your life but can help prolong it! My own grandmother lived to 90 and always had a bottle under the bed! dear granny Sylvia xxx

My grand-mother died at 98 after a fall, otherwise she would have gone on a lot longer. She used to bet on the horses every day, and in the evening - her secret of long life - a glass of guiness which first had to have a red hot poker plunged into it. Have a HAPPY life.

An old niece of my husbands drinks a neat vodka every morning before eating breakfast. She is now 93 and takes no tablets whatsoever and walks without any aids. Might I add that she doesn't like the vodka, but it obviously does her good. Sylvia xxx
