Thank you all. I wonder what my Father would have thought of all this. I hope he would have approved. His Father made it clear he was the unwanted child and left him mentally and emotionally scarred for life. His Mother was weak and would not defend her own child against his tyrannical Father. Although there can never be justification for that sort of behavior, I feel I'm starting to understand what made my Grandfather the way he was.

Janet Yes, you take your first holy communion at the age of seven. In the Catholic Church it is known as the "age of reason" when you should know right fron wrong !! I took my first holy communion at the age of seven - I was born in 1948 and took it in 1955. All the best Winifred

Not catholic but know my god daughter took hers at the age of 7. Hope this helps Pink xx

Would I be right in thinking that you take your first Holy communion at the age of 7? I've just received a photo of my possible 2nd cousin once removed in her communion family photo, which, if I'm right, happened in 1924. I have just found that I have a 4th cousin (possibly) in France who is into Genealogy. I am SO ecstatic!!!!!!
