General Chat

I think it is worth remembering that this site does not consist of people in separate compartments - Chat, Topica(General), Tips and records boards. We are all members of the site and most of us visit all the boards. I, for one do not use this site just for chatting but for research and also for taalking to friends of like mind. Perhaps those who are on here and not interested in genealogy should remove themselves to a site of general interest. (just a thought) Ann Glos

hi paul - oooh arent we both brave ! lol. records [ where we both usually play- is soooooo nice and friendly ! ]i am probably being hung- drawn and quartered as i type ! i dared to add to a couple of threads ! not a friendly place this ! but , after being a member for a while- i finally thought [tonight] i will add, i will put what i think ! although i usually get ignored ! or avoided ! but i realised- tonight- i do not really care ! if this is the best they can do with a board- well, what a waste ! this does not happen on records ! it is so silly ! what would they all do if they were in a room together ? sue

Paul just searched for your previous thread. Am sorry I can't help, but i name searched Rebcca Gilchrist, and got ten results. two of these can be discounted, p'haps out ot the other eight you can pinpoint the one you want??? If not then maybe a mail to all of them??? Shelli

And is it any wonder???? I posted a message hoping for a reply, only to find that it has been pushed so far down the board it will possibly never be seen. The board has been overwhelmed by arguments and "cyber-fighting". WHY????? It is defeating the point of the site!! I have read some of the threads trying to get a hold of what has been going on, and gave up. Whilst I can appreciate the views of others, and the hurt that threads have caused, surely it is time to stop and get on with the purpose of this site. I mean no offence by my comments, but feel that the site is being severely degraded by what is happening, and what has happened previously. I have my own thoughts on various threads, but keep them to myself, no matter the hurt that I feel for others affected. In previous instances I have felt like deleting everything due to comments made to me, but non-supportive comments from others changed my mind, because that is possibly what they want. I have recently made a contact with a few people through other boards on the site, and the feeling has been great, even though there is no direct connection to me. It is the fact that they have most willingly supplied information to me, and I have been able to supply information to them. IT IS A GREAT FEELING AS THE MAJORITY OF YOU KNOW!!!!
