Rosemary I'm no daredevil - took me months to pluck up courage even to come on here!! Just watching my kids and all the opportunities they're grabbing with both hands made me realise that I still have time to do things and maybe it's the fear of it that's worse than the actual deed itself! Daisy - shaking with trepidation! Also an essex girl. |

Daisy, My parents spent the best part of 8 years between getting married and me being born, going away on horse trekking holidays in the Lake District and other such places. I spent my childhood riding at the local stables, which included special horse riding holidays during the summer months. Sadly, I think some horse riding places have decided it's no longer worth the hassle, in this era of dubious compensation claims. When I was riding, if you fell off then well, these things happened and unless you had done yourself a complete mischief then you got back on. I first did archery on a Center Parcs holiday but later tried it at university, was good fun. |

Thanks Andy. Shame about the compensation aspect of these things. That's why we were happy to sign the permission/disclaimer forms for my daughter in South Africa - firm with a good reputation but nevertheless her choice to do it. Must be an archery club in Cambridge somewhere. Daisy |
