Another project was 'Fixing' my bike. Brand new Raleigh Shopper - decided it needed to be a different colour............ Brother and I took it to bits, I carefully laid the chain on one of my Mums Best Steak plates (as you do as a child - it was the right size for the chain!) poured what I thought was oil over the chain to give it a good clean and left it to soak in......... However - it was a jar of Varnish! Boy did I cop for an earfull! By which time we had sanded down all the paintwork too!! That bike is still hanging up in my Mums garage - awaiting the finishing touches - ie - being put back together! |
