Hello sorry for butting in! I posted a message some time ago asking the question why people search for the family or others, i wondered why people did it and what effect it had upon them, I want to say thanks very much for the people getting in touch, i find it fascinating how strong the need for people to understand there family history is, it seams to give people a grounding of where they have come from, why they are who they are, why they are here. it seams to give people a sense of security that they are not the only people out there. i also find it fascinating that for some people knowing what a distant relation did so many 100 years ago can be so profound, I wonder what the importance really is in knowing this and how dose it have any relevance to who people are now? Any thoughts? |
