I have always worn 'comfy' footwear, especially since I was 20, when I ended up walking 15 miles home in 3ft of snow, in platforms.

This 'comfy' footwear consists of sandals in summer, and boots the rest of the year.
I buy my footwear in sales - which is where the footwear no-one else wants, tends to be!

When I was in my 20's, I met my 'to be' brother in laws 6 year old sister.
She liked my boots.
Five years later, I met his 4 year old half-sister. I was wearing different footwear, but she liked it.

Twenty years later, I met both these (by now) ladies.
Both of them, separately, were talking to me, saw my footwear, and commented on a lady they'd met as children who wore 'amazing' footwear like mine!
I told them, it was me.

So, they didn't remember me - but DID remember the type of footwear I bought in the sales! :-S :-S :-S

agingrocker, DB was riding his bike in the paper? had he had his chips? :-D
I would have thought the Becks would have cast iron railings and controlled entry :-S They've gone up a tad with me if they slum it parking on the street

Let's not forget that Levi was the first 'designer' label on the outside of denim jeans - remember the little red tab on the back pocket.

Island there had been a photo of him riding it in the paper only a few days before so we recognised it. Can't guarantee the car was hers but a Mercedes with a registration of VCB outside her house would have been a hell of a co-incidence.

I bought some leather sandals from Russell and Bromley, expensive for me at the time, but they fitted really well. I wore them a lot, but then the straps started to stretch and they became unusable so had to go in the bin. I've also spent over £100 on Clarks leather knee boots, and those didn't last well either. I'm not generally overly impressed with the quality of things available, and almost certainly not designer brands.
I bought a wool/cashmere blazer many years ago which was expensive at the time, and that has been really good value, though now threadbare.
I try to avoid buying clothes unless I really need them, for eco reasons.

One of my siblings bought a cardigan in a charity shop for about £5 I think, she wore it for work, she worked in an electronic company on the factory floor and like me didn't know about designer labels but her colleagues were impressed but to her it was a cardigan that kept her warm.

Sheila :-D I don't think I've spent £100 on anything outside of kitchen equipment and current fuel bills! I think my favourite boots from Hotters are £99 now, worth it as they are comfy (comfy? never thought I'd see the day! :-0)

agingrocker, same here - I used to make my own clothes but those sewing needles have got very small! I begrudge paying much so only buy stuff that's on offer.
How did you know it was David's pushbike? Did it have a monogrammed designer saddle bag? LOL

I begrudge paying much for clothes, designer labels aren't for me. Virtually all my clothes come from Sainsbury's.

We walked past the Beckham's house once in Holland Park, I was stunned to see her car just parked on the Street, and David's pushbike was chained to a lamp post on the pavement!

Probably about £100, in 1991ish, for a pair of Roland Cartier boots (classic black leather). I wore them regularly for years so had my money's worth!

'Oversized' duffle coat - that'll be a 10 then - £1,790.00 :-0

Jeans £420.00 - I wait for a sale if they're more than 20 quid at Bom M's

Tee shirt a snip at £150.00 :-0

Are they having a giraffe???

I guess Vicky B doesn't want the peasants to be seen wearing her 'designs' ?

I hasten to add.... I looked because it came up on Facebook, I didn't go searching
:-0

What's the most you've paid for an item of clothing?
I paid £20 for a pair of red cowboy boots with a silver trim back when that was almost a weeks wages :-0 :-0 Loved them but writing the cheque was painful :-D
