Gwyn, similarly here. Hairdressing was particularly popular - but, again, I have no idea whether it is operating as it was pre-lockdown.

I agree with you about house building and infrastructure. But since we had a change in party in charge locally (for the better, I believe) one proposed huge estate has been vetoed. The bugbear for me is that some think no local young people would like to live in the innermost part of our little city so for many years HMOs (for students mostly) were given the OK. Years ago before she was married our daughter worked in the centre when she spotted a small block of flats being built. As it was a few minutes walk to work for her, she enquired about buying one only to be told they were for students. Town-and-gown held sway then …..

Morning Joy :-)

Pre lockdown, we went to several theme nights hosted by the catering students and very good they were too.
I believe other courses offer health and beauty treatments at vastly reduced prices too.

Belle,
I've just looked at the map and the hosepipe ban on 26th is not our area. I never waste water having got used to restricted supplies when we lived in Cyprus.

Some houses in parts of Kent and East Sussex have been without any water supply for 6 days and some not expected to reconnect until at least Sunday :-0 :-0
Schools have had to close too...... but still they build more houses without the infrastructure to support them :-| :-| :-0

Morning all. <3 :-D

Another glorious day here.

That sounds good, Gwyn. Years ago, the College near us used to do a similar thing one day a week before lockdown. I have not heard whether our local (and smaller) cinema has gone back to Monday pensioner afternoons with a reduced ticket price that included coffee/tea and cake was offered. Our local water board HQ used to do a cheap lunch for pensioners every Friday too.

I shall have to find out whether all three are up and running again because I might try them out. It will have to be with a pal because K won’t be tempted in case there is no gluten-free alternative. :-(

That sounds yummy, Gwyn :-D

Are you one of those getting the hosepipe ban from 26 Jun :-0

Off to do a short stint in the garden :-0 :-D

Morning Belle :-)

You're right, it's getting hotter now.
I went for a short walk and there's not a cloud in the bright blue sky.
Breeze has dropped and is not cooling.

Got back in and changed into oversize loose T shirt to help cool me down.

3 courses for our meals.
Can't remember my starter, but I chose salmon for main then lemon meringue pie :-D

Not free Fly, but very reasonable and previous meals have been very good.

We used to visit the college and be waited on by other students, but now they cook the requested foods for collection and we will take them to son's house to have a meal and chat together. :-D

'Morning Fly, Maddie and Von :-)

Bright and sunny, but quite a breeze blowing, so it should be more comfortable.

A day doing this and that at home, then our meal this evening will be cooked by catering students at the college. :-D
