I have been in bed for much of the last couple of days, flu? dreaded lurgy? So awake coughing at night I have lifted my spirits by re-reading BN's books about his house and garden "Merry Hall". Well by coincidence it is up for sale so all I need is a cool £2,950,000 :-)

It does not have the acreage it used to sadly, but it seems to have been a happy home to him, and some of the interior features are still there, though I suspect some decor that would not have been to his taste.

Get well soon <3

Thankyou Von, I am up and dressed which is an improvement anyway. :-)

Here is the Rightmove link to the house, the exterior is very recogniseable from the illustrations in the book. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/127922015#/?channel=RES_BUY

Well check out Hamm & Bublé! That'll cheer you up. :-)

Had a look at the house. I love floor plans. Especially working out how a place like that could be turned into a half dozen quite luxurious flats!

Hope you are feeling better today Rose.

I can't remember reading any of BN's books and was surprised to learn that he wrote more than 60. I think I ought to have a go at one of his books. I do remember him having a column in one of the magazines - it might have been Woman's Own.

I love the house.

As a child I read all the time and liked most books. I was given one of Beverly Nichols' books but all I can remember is that it was called "The Tree That Sat Down" and I didn't enjoy it. It must have made some sort of impression because I can still visualise the cover!

Sorry to hear that you are poorly Rose. Hope you are back to normal soon. I too don't recall ever reading any of BN's books.
