One of the few programmes I enjoy on a Saturday evening, any other fans?

The country music is a bonus, so I went looking for a song that was playing in the background on tonight's episode, from early in the series.

I had forgotten how much I enjoyed a good wallow in country music :-)

I have just done the same as you, Rose, but not with country music.

I was watching ‘Guilt’ when some really great music came on which had my feet a tapping so I searched for it. The song was ‘Grace’ by The View. I like most music but I reckon I could get fit and enjoy myself dancing to that. :-D

JoyLouise I often get lost chasing up songs. I'm still looking for one that was on a tv programme about 40 years ago lol, I think it was only on that and not recorded anywhere.

Okay. I can do country wallow.

I don't suppose this is the one from a TV show 40 years ago, RR? I spent a long time chasing it up for my mum after it was played in the final scene of Northern Exposure, and I don't even remember how I finally found it. Life before internet.

It's actually probably just about now (a little after midnight) two years ago today that she died. You made me play it. <3

Tx JoyLouise.

What November days we are having hereabouts. Cold, rainy, dark.

Joonie no it wasn't that, always nice to see Emmylou though.

I saw Emmylou several years ago on stage with Arlo Guthrie.

Quite the spectacular amount of white hair on display there was!

Also very nice music. When I could hear it over the non-paying drunk standing just outside the fence we were sitting alongside inside and singing along. Until a cop finally moved him along.

By the way

Gordon Lightfoot died.

"UK hit 1971 peaked at No.30, 9 weeks on chart
The chart UK position did not reflect how much of a timeless classic this song is!!!"

I am in a quandary now lol.

re the song that I remember from the play, all I remembered of it after so many decades was that it was sung by one of the male characters at the end of the play ( I think) it was a slow tune and ended with the words "may you be forever young" , now I have found a song by Dylan sung by Pete Seeger which has the right sort of sound but isn't quite it. Or is it?

Any clues JoonieCloonie? https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ezyd40kJFq0

Rose, Forever Young is also sung by Alfie Boe and it is much slower than the youtube version by Pete Seeger you posted. I have it on cd but I'm sure it will be on youtube.

Dylan sang it himself in his own special nasal whine. It was the theme song for the US series Parenthood a few years ago.

Hm, that's not how it sounded on the series

Here we are!

Edit - ah, it's slow you were looking for, so the first one is probably right, if it's Dylan singing it. But whoever sang it in the play could have slowed it down to taste.

I'm getting versioned out, so this may be the same as that last one, but in any case it's straight from the soundtrack so it's the one I know!
