It's a pity they couldn't 'de-arrest' the gull instead of killing it :-|

I think if the person was arrested for being drunk and was then found to.be sober with, say, a health issue then they would be de arrested.
If they Were drunk then I think they can be released without charge.

But then, I am not in the law, it all comes fro tv ;-)

Added: just googled it and it is a ‘thing’.

well surely if you are arrested first, you are then released? never heard of being de-arrested :-S :-S

This is a quote from the BBC local news in Lancashire.

A man, in his 50s, was arrested for being drunk and disorderly but he has subsequently been de-arrested.
