So after all I have gone through that is still ongoing I have resumed chiropractor with oncologist approval

I had started pre covid Swedish massage that got stopped with covid lockdown and with my knee replacement operation.

Just restarted the massage two weeks ago same practice but different masseur with a different lady who was a bit ? hands in the air and don’t want to touch you !

Her excuse was need a doctor letter to say it’s ok or you should go with a cancer specialist masseur. There’s no such thing !

My chiropractor was what ?? She is being stupid!

Now just got an email saying no letter then I will cancel your next appointment this week

It’s like she doesn’t want to touch me as I,m unclean !

To say never ever thought I would come across prejudice was far from from my thoughts

She only has to Google to find research has never ever found any problems with spread of cancer and deep massage :-(

Is your old masseur not working there any more?
Otherwise it looks as though you are going to have to do a ring round all the local masseurs andsee if there is anyone with the right experience.
Could Macmilllan point in the right direction?

Good idea Shirley, if you have a cancer nurse they should be able to advise you. The problem is, in this country everyone is afraid of litigation. Can you not get a letter?

No it’s the same practice but the masseurs seem to be self employed rather like hairdressers paying for a chair
The original lady had children and fitted her work around their schooling

Seems she has either stopped working or made different arrangements because of covid . They won’t say other than she doesn’t work here anymore

My daughter was middle finger up mum and don’t distress yourself with someone else’s ignorance

But it does rankle :-(

I was referred for some specialist radiotherapy but been turned down cos the node is too near important tubes to bowel and kidneys so could affect. their function

Am waiting now to see the oncologist to see where we go now
