A while back, when my pay as you go phone had 63p left on it, I pressed '1' and someone asked me how they cold help me!
I pointed out that their 'bot' had called me, and I wanted to know why?
Then he obviously 'clicked', and told me about my 'Amazon' account etc etc

I asked when they wanted my bank account details - he said 'Not yet', I replied 'Good, as I don't have an Amazon account'. The rest is unrepeatable on a public site :-D :-D

Usually, when I get scam calls on my landline now, I don't hang up, but just leave the phone on the table. While that line is 'busy' they can't use it to try to scam anyone else.

I have had a call 2 days running. Starts off "Dear customer", your visa debit card is going to be debited with £900 blah blah blah.

Well, I don't have that kind of money just now and I just hung up.

Gwyn awhile back you asked if anyone had ever pressed " 1 ". Don't ever do that as you will be charged a huge amount and also, I think they then can hack your phone or something similar, so I listen for 10 seconds and always hang up.

They tried the washing machine one on my mum and she gave them what for as said she paid by d/d so they must be fraudsters and they hung up!

We've just had the fraudelent use of our card in America one. I think it was being used for gambling.

Well, that caused a laugh as we have a relative visiting America who will definelty be gambling - didn't know they knew our card number ;-) ;-)

Just had 2 calls within 10 minutes about dodgy use of my card.... or was it my daughter's, the auto voice didn't say?

A payment of £300 to Amazon and £1000 International money transfer has been flagged up as it is not usual use of the card.

Has anyone ever 'pressed 1 ' to hear what they have to say for themselves.

I pressed the red Off button to end the call.

We've just had another call to say that the cavity wall insulation fitted 'recently' has been proved to be dangerous and needs replacing urgently - we have 3ft thick stone walls!

I think the scammers are hard at work at the moment.

Had one the other day about my loft inspection - oddly they were the ones to cut off in mid sentence - I was still stringing them along. Now I have had someone telling me my warranty on my washing machine was out of date. Now, how can they sell me a warranty on a machine that they don't now the brand or how old it is? :-S :-S :-P

Maggie, my dad had a really old phone from 30 years ago and he got a similar text. I told him to ignore it as he lives mostly on his own anyway. He doesn't have a smart phone and has no Apps!

Just had a text from 07521 256558, informing me I've been in contact with someone with covid, and I can order free tests.
This is novel, as I haven't got the covid app, and haven't been in contact with anyone in over a week - and that was only the mask-wearing lady behind the plastic screen in the empty (apart from me) local shop!!
