Last night I tuned in to Graham Norton to see who was on his show. Noone really exciting but the music was Sam Ryder in some kind of sparkly tight onesie!

However, after he had performed, I'm sure Graham said to Sam, Liverpool will be great, and you'll do Ukraine proud or words to that effect. He def mentioned Liverpool.

Now the result of where to host the next Eurovision wasn't announced until 7.15 on The One Show on Friday night. Graham's show is recorded Infront of a live audience but on a Thursday night and then shown on Fri night.

So how did Graham know it was Liverpool to host as it hadn't been announced on Thurs eve when the show was made??

Did anyone else watch the show and pick up on what Graham said to Sam?

I could have misheard but sure I didn't

I've just looked at it on you tube Florence,

Yes, Graham Norton did say Liverpool but 'will you be playing a part' didn't strike me as Eurovision - what do I know though lol. 'playing a part' could be the new ' 'contestant'.
Not sure about doing Ukraine proud - he's an Essex boy :-S

His outfit looked like a baggy jumpsuit to me but the sparklies were there :-D

Ah...... Ukraine won by the public vote pushing Sam Ryder into second - who is he btw, rather large mouth :-0 So Eurovision to Liverpool next year - it would already have been known and GH let the cat out of the bag,

Sorry Island, didn't mean to give you a fright ;-)

Ah so he did mention Liverpool then hmmmm. He sang Spaceman in this year's Euro but came 2nd. Bit of a strange guy, don't like his long straggly hair and his sense of dress.... well .

Yeah, normally the previous winner has a part at the next years host country by singing something as a guest but strange he did say Liverpool and not Glasgow or both.

I think GN let the cat out of the bag when it was recorded on Thurs eve.

Thought I should change my profile picture to something seasonal lol

I, for one, am pleased it is going to be Liverpool. It’s not because it’s my city of birth but because of the influence the Mersey sound has had on popular music around the world.

I know Glasgow has a Conservatoire of Music because my granddaughter thought about applying several years ago but I think Liverpool eclipses it. What do others think?

By the way, I thought Sam would have won Eurovision if it had not been for the conflict. It’s not to say that I disagreed with that verdict but I thought it was not judged on sound alone - and I, too, would have given Ukraine a sympathy vote because it still managed an appearance after all the country had gone through so I thought it deserved a boost. <3

I haven't watched it for decades Joy, it became too political and not judged on talent. Oh but wait..... what talent?

I agree with it being in Liverpool, they can wheel out Paul and Ringo to host it LOL

That would be the icing on the cake, Island.

I'm glad it went to Liverpool too, home of the Beatles and Gerry & the Pacemakers etc... Yes, Sam would have one without the war I'm sure. The best we have done in years.
