Got around to starting a new Kindle book last night called Gerald’s War, about a guy who had to say the least a rough childhood. He joins the RAF and is attached to 211 Blenheim Bomber Squadron.

Then low and behold on reading further he was brought up near to me..5 mins away :-D :-D

Read my screed Pat. They were from Liverpool but we think he was put into that regiment because it had sustained a huge loss of life.

You don’t mean my lovely man in a kilt, do you Pat?

We were thinking he could be the OH of one of our Grandmother’s sisters but none of us has looked to see what regiments they were in.

On Mum’s side our Uncle was in the Fife and Forfar (I think that was his Scottish regiment) but probably only there because they’d lost a lot of men in WW2 as they weren’t Scottish and never lived there.
