Well hair is growing even if its white , but it’s tight curls

Everyone says love it ,suits you which makes me wonder why I spent so much on having it dyed ,

Has a ct scan in august and the lymph node was still the same size with no indication of spread so oncologist was I want you to have radiotherapy as previously planned

But we are concerned you have some dots in your lungs so need to check them out with a PET scan which shows more details

Soo had that done and saw the oncologist last Thursday and it’s not spread to the lungs

Now it’s three options full radiotherapy on the the pelvic area which is extensive and may cause long term bowel and bladder problems
And is it necessary cos your pelvic nodes are still clear

Radiotherapy on just the node with cancer by a specialist team plus three sessions to the cervix area by my surgical team

Referral to a London hospital for two new drugs just been approved but one of them hasn’t been passed for sarcoma

Have opted for nos two and been referred and hope the specialist team will say yes :-)

Oh Shirley, so glad to hear your scan results were good and nothing has spread. Such a great relief for you.
So Radiotherapy sessions to "mop" up. My daughter had radiotherapy for 30 days continuous at just 1 minute each side daily. She had a pea size cell behind her heart that the surgeon couldnt get to. Theywere 99% sure it was a dead cell but wanted to make sure so she had the radiotherapy sessions daily.

She managed them very well and pleased to say 20 years later she is still cancer clear :-D

I wish you well with the treatment and will be thinking of you. How soon before you get them?

Florence

He did give me the options but also outlined possibly side effects and felt full pelvic area radiology may be too much for me as as all nodes are clear in that area is it necessary at this time to maybe cause different problems
As he said do we want to do something unnecessary and cause long term problems elsewhere

So he has referred me to the specialist team and now it’s a wait to see if they accept me

Apparently the node Is very near to the tube that goes to the kidneys and my kidney function whilst still ok has gone down .
The radiotherapy will affect kidney function so will they say we think we will still do

It’s a wait now for an appointment or rejection

But if rejected he will still refer me to a London hospital,am guessing the royal Marsden as that’s a specialist cancer hospital

Thank London xx

Tbh I was in absolute freaked out mode to hear the latest scan results
Even though I feel really well I had convinced myself it would be bad news

So from being told we can’t offer you treatment but just monitor you to be ok we will offer treatment was a Phew

As I said to the oncologist I may be 85 but am a young 85 and I feel well and I know I won’t live forever but I would like a few more years with good health

He said yes that’s our aim too !

I hope you hear soon that you have been accepted for the next round of treatment to give you many more good days.

Best wishes Shirley and a relief the scan results weren't bad news and that they offered you 3 options and ignore the years we have behind us. It's the one's in front that matter, however many there will be. <3
