We had our boiler serviced a couple of weeks ago. Interesting chat with the engineer. Apparantly boilers erviced during the heatwave couldn't have the radiators checked as there was nowhere for the heat to go.
We were also begged NOT to cut the flow, as is currently being recommended as a cost cutting exercise. We were also recommneded to keep it on low all the time.

Most surprisingly, it seems some people haven't learnt how useful it can be to open and close their curtains in tune with the weather.

I've had ours on for a couple of hours each morning for the last 3 days, just to take the chill off the house.

If the sun comes out we get quite a bit of solar heating, but when it's cloudy it is now decidedly chilly and autumnal.

We've put the heating on.
It is very cold here and likely to get quite dull so as we know we will be sitting around all day we flipped the switch.
