Tried to go on FMP on Friday to look up something. It told me I had to take out a Free Trial now, and wouldn't go anywhere.

I tried to sign in, and it told me to take a Free Trial.

Gave up in disgust.

Came on here on Saturday night (UK time), wrote out a long post, tried to submit it, and was told I had to be a member.

Tried to sign in, was told I was a Free Member.

Looked at the top and RENEW was showing, in black. I hadn't noticed that before. Hadn't received any email either.

Checked back in my receipts, and yep, it was true ..... I usually renew on September 9 (which was Friday). So I tried to renew, clicked on the membership, filled out credit card details, clicked Submit .,........... and got an Error message, apologies and "click on the back button"

Clicked, message Your payment has gone through.

So tried to re-post the message which I'd saved. No way was it accepted. I needed to become a member.

Emailed support@genesreunited, and asked what the heck was going on .

I got a reply THIS morning, timed at 9:59 am UK time, apologising for the fault which had been corrected, and urging me to try again


Messy, and unnecessary, but a quick response from GR, which I haven't seen in years!


Now I have to try and sort out FMP, where my subscription is not supposed to be renewed until NOVEMBER!

Oh dear Sylvia, I hope you get it sorted quickly. FMP and Ancestry are normally fast to answer

Sylvia, I've recently had a similar experience with the Genes Reunited site whilst trying to renew my membership last month..... eventually it has been sorted but I do understand your irritation/frustration.

Good luck with the FMP renewal.
