I think it used to say about 3 weeks, and mine usually arrived quicker than that, but I guess they have taken that away as they have a backlog/staff shortages and don't want to commit themselves.

Ah Kucinta, ty for that as I have only been waiting a few days and was wondering how long it can take. Yes they should say how long you can expect to wait.

That's good to know Kucinta. It's a pity they don't mention that in order to manage your expectations :-0

I ordered some recently and they took a while, nearly a month, more in one case. Got to the point where I started prodding them.

Thanks for that

They tell you when it's available and you then have 30 days to read it. If you want to keep it, make sure you download it within that time! :-)

Hi Florence

I've just ordered Probate/Will and the following is what it says about viewing the documents

****
You won’t be able to access the grant/will straight after ordering it. You will get an email confirming your order but this will not mean that your copy is ready to be downloaded.

You will get an email when it is ready to download. You will then be able to log in to the system and go to “My Wills” and save each available item to your computer. After you have logged in, the copy will be available for 31 days, so make sure that you save it before then.

If you have ordered more than one grant or will, then they may be ready to download at different times. You’ll get an email when each one is ready.

Some of the grants and wills are quite old so may not be in very good condition. The scanned copy of the grant or will that you receive will be the best quality available.

****

Hope this helps :-)

Pending will mean it will be dealt with asap as in the PDF birth/death certs online.

You get an email to say it's ready.

It comes online.

On my gov.uk account, under the details its says documents pending, does that mean its in process? Ive not done this before so not sure how it works.

Will they notify me when the documents are available to view?

Is there anyway, I can find out details of a will of someone who died without any family and possibly gave away everything to a charity? In 2005
