There is always one contestant that the public keep voting in against all odds on Strictly and this year it looks as if it isTony :-0 :-0

I think last night both in the dance off made numerous mistakes but I agreed with Shirley, I would have picked Kaye to stay :-0. Kaye had a lot more moves and steps in her dance to remember :-0

Welcome to this thread Maggie. :-)

I believe I did read that a while ago. Thank you for reminding me.

Up to a couple of years ago, we saw all of Dave Arche's band, including Mr Pork Pie Hat, and they introduced the singers. Now they are simply lumped in together.

Seeing as they sing on practically all the dances, I think they should have recognition.

For those of you who remember 'The Goons' - well one of the musicians on there was Ray Ellington, and his band.
Ray's son, Lance is regularly one of the singers on 'Strictly'.
He's made a few Singles and EP's, and has done/does quite a bit of other work.

I did like Tyler's Jive, very energetic...in fact he comes over as a really nice guy :-D

I thought Helen's Cha Cha Cha & Richie's Quick Step were good too....and also Molly :-D

Ellie did well with the Waltz and it didn't look as awkward as I thought it would be :-0

Hamza disappointed, the Jive was just not his dance :-(

I fell asleep for Kym's dance so I have no idea whether it was good or bad :-0

I think Tony is a lovely guy but just not a dancer and it is he that should go :-0

However, when the Public are involved it not just about the dancing....so it could be any of them that leave the Show :-0

I agree about the Singers, Maddie....they are too good just to be referred to as the backing singers .....how many songs did they sing last night :-0 :-|

Well Will did not do so well in his dance, although he was perfect in rehearsal.

Tyler and Molly did the most energetic and spot on dances.

Sadly Tony still made a few mistakes in his dance, so may well be on his way home. Maybe they will do that old chestnut of pitting a 'shock' good dancer against a poor one in the dance off.

I thought the judges were a bit more strict in their comments, after the bolster of over marking last week.

As in previous years, it depends who is most popular with the views.

I do wish they would give the singers a proper name check, as they are an integral part of the show. :-|

Wonder who will be first out. I suppose it depends who has fewer folllowers. This early in the competition.

Second live show tonight. Sadly someone will be going home.

I hope Matt has some decent trousers on this week, the pair last week were totally shapeless. :-D

Caught about 5 mins of Take Two last night. Will Mellor is looking very good in his dance.

I thought the standard was good for a first week but agree that some seemed to be overmarked. Craig seems to have gone soft over the summer! lol I liked Helen and I was surprised Jayde gave it some wellie like she did! Looking forward to next week!

AnninGlos Report 25 Sep 2022 15:48

Oh I don't think I studied his trousers Belle :-D

Yes Ellie's partner did look a bit awkward. The trouble with trying to be all inclusive is that it can end up embarrassing both of them. Although I think she is very ;aid back about her height, I loved her boyfriend laughing when the camera was on him, so natural. for her height she is in perfect proportion though so if her partner had been a few inches shorter she would have been fine.
Hamza's hair is distracting, I am sure it must be heavy for him as well. I am assuming his is a religion that does not cut their hair. He looks so light on his feet.

Edit I should have said that Ellie's body is in perfect proportion, her limbs sadly are not. and she is sadly already being trolled.

LondonBelle Report 25 Sep 2022 15:06

I didn't see all the dancers but of the ones that I did see I liked Helen & Hamza, although I did find his hair a bit distracting :-0 :-D

I thought Tyler did well to do all the lifts that he did in Week 1, so hats off to him :-D

I also thought Ellie Symonds did well but I thought her partner looked awkward towering above her or bending down to her. Such a shame that the Beeb couldn't get a professional dancer of a similar height for her for this Series. I suppose they are trying to show that disabled and able bodies can work together. Not sure how they are going to cope with the dances where they need to hold each other eg Waltz, Foxtrot, Quick Step etc. Anyway good luck to Ellie. :-)

Another distracting thing was Matt Gos' trousers were too long :-D :-D

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 25 Sep 2022 12:20

I was surprised at how wooden she appeared to be, I suppose not all good actors can dance.

KathleenBell

KathleenBell Report 25 Sep 2022 11:35

I liked Will and Hamza too. I also like Kym Marsh but unfortunately I don't think she can dance.

enjoyed it even if it was a bit long. I like Will, Hamza and Helen but as you say early days yet.

MotownGal

MotownGal Report 25 Sep 2022 08:06

Well that was a good, if bum-numbing stint. I agree with Linda, I thought some of them were over-marked.

Sadly, maybe Tony will be out. Dancing is nothing like footie, even though they both involve feet. I felt he was very nervous, and when he made the first mistake, it threw him.

Will was very good. Although I believe he has appeared in the West End in a musical.

Everyone being back to form, with Craig doing his maiden aunt impression, and Anton being more like Len than ever.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Sep 2022 21:03

I think there has been some definite over marking tonight. Some of them seem really high for the first week, but it looks like it will be a good series.
First out - Tony Adams unless a miracle happens next week
