I love a hairy spider, Von.

For ages, I had a humongous one living in the small gap between the kitchen cupboard and the wall.
It had made a web outside the gap, but I only ever saw it's huge hairy legs sticking out of the gap.

The spiders in our greenhouse have eaten all the flying ants ;-) ;-) ;-)

I was woken this morning, by something tapping out a message in Morse code on my bedroom window.
I opened blind a little, and went back to bed (my bed is aligned with the window).
After a short while, the Morse code began again.
This time I could see what was causing it.

It was sparrows eating insects caught in the cobwebs on the outside of my window!!

Now, if I'd cleaned these windows on the outside - something was going to do last week - I wouldn't have experienced this.

Why didn't I clean my windows?

I have sparrows nesting in a hole in the soffit above this window, and didn't want to scare/disturb them.

One good turn deserves another :-D

The sparrows are on at least their second brood, and don't seem to care if I'm in the garden.
Because of the position of the nest, they have to initially fly down, to fly up.

I'm in a bungalow, so they fly down and whizz past my head to get to the trees/brambles about 30 ft away, on a high bank, behind/against my neighbours fence.

So far, they've avoided pooing on my washing! :-D :-D

De cobwebed, dusted and polishished everything last year and for goodness sake I have to do it all again now. :-( :-(
