Mr Owl and the Dartford Crossing

This morning Mr Owl received two penalty charge notices for using the Dartford Crossing without paying a few months ago but there are two problems with this. Problem one is that the car was a hire car for work so when he left the company in June last year the car went back and two is that on the Wednesday before the incident Mr Owl had disks in his back removed and shaved. Given the incident happened on the Sunday Mr Owl would not have been fit for driving even if it wouldn’t have taken us nearly 7 hours to get there.

Mr Owls name was never on the paperwork just the hire companies and the company that he worked for. Turns out the hire company gave the Dartford crossing Mr Owl’s name even though he hasn’t had the car for almost a year now and they collected it from our house. :-|

Write to the authorities and the company he used to work for ASAP.

My son drove a blue fiesta years ago and he got a letter addressed to him. He was working in Northumberland and we lived in Nottinghamshire.

Son told me to open the letter and he was accused of road rage and a man was quite badly injured when the driver of the blue fiesta hit him and he fell to the ground. A bystander got part of the attacker's number which coincided with son's car. The incident happened in Kent.

I wrote on behalf of my son telling them the fiesta had been in Northumberland at the time not Kent.

A Northumberland policeman went to where my son worked and asked management what he was working that weekend. I got a phone call telling me he was in the clear about 10 days after receiving the letter.

Definitely contact the authorities, the company he worked for and the hire car company immediately. Have you got some sort of proof that he had the op etc.

The doctor is happy to sign a note to the effect of Cauda Equina and serious back surgery if needed. It turns out with the hire company that the right hand and the left hand are not doing the same thing or talking to each other. The hire company have a record of the car going back and Mr Owl’s previous employment requesting the car again as it was less than three years old. The hire company doesn’t know who in Mr Owl’s previous job was then given the car. Hopefully it won’t be our problem soon as the previous employer will cough as to who is driving it now.
