Blast, I'm just the fool on the hill.......

who has just this minute returned a positive test for COVID :-(. Symptoms started last Friday but a RAT done on Saturday morning was negative. As the symptoms were not getting any better I decided to do another test this morning and bingo!

oh dear.

Take care. Hopefully it will be a mild case.

Thanks, Sylvia.

My symptoms are similar to a heavy cold. I have to isolate for 7days and then retest; reporting of a positive result is mandatory in WA. OH also has to isolate. Fortunately the new house presents no problems with this requirement :-)

Hope it is as mild as mine was Alan although it does make and leave you feeling very tired.

Allan ............... my daughter's family in Nova Scotia had their bout week before last.

It was strange ...... grandson came down on Saturday evening, tested negative but then tested positive on Sunday morning, was feeling much better on Monday

Daughter felt "off" on Sunday evening but tested negative, then tested positive on Monday morning, and feeling much better by Wednesday morning.

It took another 2 or 3 days before they tested negative.

Her OH didn't come down with anything ............. that is, until they remembered that he had much more fatigued than usual in the week before grandson fell sick. He had no other symptoms, but it seems evident that son-i-l brought it into the house. At least, they are blaming him!! There were other reasons for him feeling very tired, such as PTA interview week, mainly by phone luckily.

Strange thing though. Others in the house did NOT have to isolate, and those who caught it just had to have 3 negative tests on successive days after ceasing feeling symptoms, and then they could go out to work etc.

So son-i-l was able to work while wife and son were sick, and they could all mix together.

They also had to self-report being infected, but that isn't mandatory, just "preferred".

We're like you ............ 7 days isolation, with some quarantine.

We could also do it easily as we have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, as long as we could work out food from the kitchen. We're like daughter in reporting ................... self-reporting is "preferred" but not mandatory.

I know where I was infected, it was at a rehearsal for a forthcoming masonic ceremony (which has now been postponed). Once I started to develop symptoms, although my first test last Saturday was negative, I advised the organisers that. from an abundance of caution, I would withdraw from the ceremony.

I sent that email as soon as I had taken the test. Later that day I received a response saying that they could understand as another member had already returned a positive test.

I'm wondering how long it would have taken the organisers to actually notify the twenty or so people who were there that night of the actual positive test :-| :-|

Fortunately I had already decided to isolate and my positive test yesterday showed that my decision was correct.

Symptoms don't seem worse, as such, but I now have a fairly persistent cough and feel more fatigued than usual

Our son-in-law tested positive last week but his infection was from a totally different source as he and our daughter had spent twelve days up at Shark Bay for a fishing competition

Allan .........................hope it stays mild

I had a bout back back in February, a cold for 1 day and then the dry hacking cough. But the cough lasted for weeks, literally. I could go about 30 minutes or so, then get a "catch" or itch in my throat and cough almost uncontrollably for 2 or 3 minutes.

Sometimes sipping water helped, but more often I had to suck a mild honey and lemon lozenge.

I had to keep cancelling my physio appointments, as they didn't want me coughing even though I wasn't infectious.

This cough seems to be very common ................ daughter described it to me on Sunday as the "covid cough", and everyone who's had it recognises it!
