Part of the deal was they were chauffeur driven there and back. When they arrived at the quayside they had lateral flow and PCR tests before they could board. They tested the driver too and one couple was refused boarding because the driver had tested positive :-0

They were very strict on board with mask wearing and testing. Also they could only go ashore if they were on one of their excursions. :-0

A cruise ship is a breeding ground for any virus.


COVID-19 transmits when people breathe in air contaminated by droplets and small airborne particles containing the virus. The risk of breathing these in is highest when people are in close proximity, but they can be inhaled over longer distances, particularly indoors. Transmission can also occur if splashed or sprayed with contaminated fluids in the eyes, nose or mouth, and, rarely, via contaminated surfaces.

They are back home, Von......got back last Wednesday :-) Hubby started to feel unwell on Friday and SiL last night :-(
