Good morning,
Can anybody please help me as I am no longer getting the mauve hot match icons on my family tree and I wondered if I can get them back.
Thank you

I think Cath probably means the little purple stars with numbers on by names on the tree. I haven’ t looked at my tree for years but just checked. Are you looking at “Full” tree? They don’t seem to show on there but they do show on all the other categories. If they have disappeared completely you may have to email support.

Hi Suffolk/Vera,
Yes that is what I meant, the stars with the numbers and they don't appear on either the full tree so I will get in contact with customer support.

I expect you know the address for support but just in case you don't, it's

[email protected]

They don't respond very quickly so don't hold your breath. Good luck

Thank you I have already sent them a email and hopefully I will get a reply sooner rather than later

You're probably not missing a lot.

The "matches" are only people who happen to have the same name as your relative, and were born in the same year.
Unless your relative has a very unusual name, the "matches" will mostly not be matches.

Also , the number in the purple star often isn't the same as the number of "matches" listed when you click on the star.

For instance, there are supposedly 33 matches for my maternal grandfather, but only 26 are listed, and only two of those are actually my grandfather.

Another relative has 53 "matches" in the purple star, but only 37 in the list, and only one of them is my relative.

Consequently, I haven't bothered looking at these "matches" for years.
