,,, and some just can't welcome that and be happy for others - how do they get through life with their if's, but's and dampers?

Apologies to those who made positive posts.
I deleted. Any miserable cr*p here and I'll RR.

Some of us are well enough informed to know that there are others in a dire position too, but it’s still good news for one family and may provide a glimmer of hope for those others and a bit of hope is better than despair.

Sorry, but you’ve lost me - so I must have missed something or missed someone being the harbinger of doom. :-S

It can’t be the release of NZR and AA as that is fantastic news. I wish them well, both of them.

If that is what this is about then yes, great news and so pleased for the family. I think, unfortunately that Covid has dragged us down more than we realise and some people are finding it hard to be positive about anything. we can only hope that things can improve to uplift us all. <3

Ann, I haven’t a clue what it’s all about as it looks as though something may have been deleted. I took a punt, went along with Vera’s words, ‘it’s still good news for one family’ and guessed at the releases. I may be wrong - it could be something entirely different. :-D

AnninGlos Report 16 Mar 2022 13:28

yes I realised that Joy. doesn't matter I am sure anyway Island would agree that is a glimmer of hope.

I also missed what went before and thought it maybe about Nazareen who is now on the plane home.

Those of us in the south have been kept up to date over the years on how things have been going. A big relief.

Yep. Nazanin Z R. I merely put up a thread here as soon as I saw that she was finally on her way home but of course he who thinks we all need educating couldn't resist, then there was 'the planes not taken off yet'...

It is a fantastic glimmer of hope shining through these very dark days!

I agree Island and no need to take any notice of he who needs to be heard.

I only mentioned that the plane had not taken off yet because she had been to the airport before only to be rearrested......i definitely wasn't putting a dampener on it, just airing on the side of caution until it was confirmed she was on the plane and in the air:-)

Joy...... " I haven’t a clue what it’s all about as it looks as though something may have been deleted." No 'may have been' about it. I said in my op that I'd deleted :-S

Belle, I didn't see you post that - the red mist had risen before I read all the posts. I had a soddit moment.

I’ve been out and came back to read that Anoosheh Ashoori is also coming back and Morad Tahbaz has at least been released from prison so that’s 3 bits of good news today - something to celebrate in these gloomy times :-)

AnninGlos Report 16 Mar 2022 14:56

I think I saw that 'we' have promised to pay the huge amount of money we owe them so maybe that is the catalyst.

AnninGlos

AnninGlos Report 16 Mar 2022 15:21

Ah yes I did, from the Mail on line

Detained British-Iranian mother Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has left Iran after nearly 'six years of hell' in detention and is returning to Britain today, after UK officials settled a long-standing £400million debt to Tehran.

Her husband Richard Ratcliffe said he was 'deeply grateful' for her release and that he and their daughter Gabriella were 'looking forward to a new life'. He said she had asked for him to make her a cup of tea on her arrival home.

Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe is flying to Muscat in Oman and will then travel on to RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire on a Titan Airways Boeing jet chartered privately by the UK Government - arriving at 10.30pm, reported The Times. The plane has been waiting in Oman since Monday after flying out as hopes built of a deal, according to LBC radio.

It is indeed some cheery news in all the gloom that is going on and of course begs the question... why wasn't the debt paid much much sooner.
