Sharing your information with others
(Exporting GEDCOM files)
After you have typed information into the .paf file, you could share it with other
people. To do so, you need to export it or copy it into a format that other computer
genealogy programs can use. This format is called GEDCOM.
You can share your information in a variety of ways:
• You can give a GEDCOM file to another individual.
• You can include a GEDCOM file on a web site.
• You can submit information to Ancestral File.
• You can submit information to Pedigree Resource File.
• You can submit names for temple ordinances.
What is GEDCOM? When you export information from the .paf file, you create a GEDCOM file.
GEDCOM is a computer format that permits one type of software program to read
genealogical records created in another program. GEDCOM was created by The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to make it possible for individuals with
different brands of software and computers to share their information. You can
recognize a GEDCOM file on your computer because its file name ends with “.ged.”

Ann, if you both have trees on GenesReunited then it isn't possible to copy your tree to your niece's tree. If she hasn't started her tree yet then you can send her a GEDCOM of your tree which she can use as the basis for her tree. See importing and exporting GEDCOMs in the Family Tree tab near the top of the page.

She could create a second GR account using a different email address and load your tree into that account. She could then view it and manually add the parts she is interested in to her main tree.

The other possibility is that she gets a family tree program that allows her to import
GEDCOMs and merge trees.

Be aware that photos and non text items do not get exported in GEDCOMs
