Tawny, you have every right to be very proud of Mr Owl's work ethic. I'm so pleased for you both. xx

Tawny, Driving a truck is a much more prestigious job than working in an office!

Both are important, but without the 'ground staff', (blue-collar workers) whatever those in the office do, nothing happens! :-D :-D :-D

Well done Mr Owl!!

I agree, Tawny. I get very cross with people who would rather be unemployed than do a job they think is "beneath them".

Congratulations. Night work is tough but he is getting his pride and self esteem back. Of course you have always been proud of him.

Mr Owl was unable to go back to his previous job as he cannot crawl into small spaces now or lift more than 20kg so we have been managing on statutory sick pay, my two paid shifts a week at a charity shop and our savings since March. Both of us applied for other jobs but without success. Finally last week Mr Owl got a job. It’s not ideal but we need money and this job means he earns more money than his previous job. Mr Owl is now night trunking in a HGV from Livingston, West Lothian to Rochdale, Yorkshire and back five nights a week leaving at 11pm and getting back back at 11am.

He worried I’d be disappointed in him as instead of being able to say my husband has a collar and tie job I’m saying my husband drives for a living. I’m not disappointed in any way shape or form. My husband is working and he’s happy to be working again and that is all that matters to me.
