Many of you will have seen the sad news Mary added on fb but I asked her if she wanted it added here for those who don’t use fb and she agreed.

Yesterday Mary’s beloved younger daughter Megan passed away in her sleep at the age of 51 years. Megan had her struggles in life and had lived with her Mum all her life. She was much loved by all who knew her and especially by her brother David and her sister Colleen, as well as Colleen’s children, all now young adults.

Naturally Mary is in pieces, the shock and grief overwhelming her, and I can only be there for her from afar as best I can. She has support from their many friends but maybe more caring messages will help her a little, as she will be able to read them (but not respond) here.

Life has been hard for Mary but she’s been her family’s rock. Now she needs to take support from others to get through this sad time.

She used to regale us with all her family stories when on here. It is so sad. I have posted on her facebook announcement but she is much in my thoughts. a child to go before us is the wrong order of things. When my husband died last year I found the following comforting.
' Grief leaves a heartache no-one can heal
Love leaves a memory no-one can steal'.

Rest in peace Megan and God bless.

Mary should be able to read this thread altho she won’t be able to respond.

Her grandchildren also lost their paternal Grandfather yesterday afternoon, but did have the chance to say goodbye to him. He had been a wonderful presence in their lives and will be sorely missed,

Although I remember the name I never really "knew" Mary on the boards but my heart goes out to her. Any loss is painful but the loss of your child must be the most painful of all. Mary, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

RIP Megan

Thank you all so very much for your kind words and thoughts. It has been an awful 10 days really but I am planning to be OK. \Quite lost at the moment without meg joined at the hip. The number of times I would turn around and walk smack into her are now a memory I will treasure. Her sister's 2 kids with autism were remarkably good, now, believe it or not, they are ages 23 and 20. Sarah had to be exited out of the prayer vigil for her grandfather as she was singing, and Gareth distinguished himself by suddenly shouting "What's going on here" in the middle of the mass for his grandfather. During Megans funeral service, gareth shouted out "I sad" while Sarah stood up and announced "gotta go pee". Gareth mercifully had some lorazepam prior to the service!! Seems everyone here who knows me, knows that Megan always wanted Fish and chips on Wednesdays as that's the day it is half-price, so tonight, 2 different people have ordered fish and chips for tonight for us. Folks have been amazingly kind - I just received a sympathy card from someone I haven't seen since 1970 when Megan was 3 months old!!
Fish and chips have arrived, thank you all again. Much love,Mary

Mary, lovely to see your board name on here, even though for such a tragically sad reason. You obviously have many happy memories of Megan and that is wonderful. Good to hear news of Sarah and Gareth, they provided a few chuckles in the past. I imagine you have re-joined so that you could 'talk to us. Please come back again, It is good to keep in touch. I hope the fish and chips were good. (did you eat both lots?)
