Surely not!

I am not one who thinks we, as a nation, should not give to other nations in need or to give to them to safeguard British jobs/companies operating overseas.

But, to tackle corruption in another country, surely not.

To help prevent that country relying so much on Russia for its energy, perhaps.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, Aunt Martha would be lucky to have a chicken to pluck as so many are finding it hard to keep hearth and home together due to cost-of-living rises, because of increased taxation (direct and indirect), because of loss/reduction of National and local government assistance …….

Bojo is not doing too good a job of keeping my mind (at least) off the shenanigans that he and others have been up to at home.

He is taking us for mugs, is what I think. :-0

Well, apparently, we can 'ignore' the £4.3 billion lost to furlough fraud, and the £8.7 billion lost to PPE being defective or not up to standard - due to any 'Tom Dick or Chum' who was offered a contract to get it -oh, and the few million a week it's cost to store it.

As for Russia - they, and the Chinese have been using London housing as a way of money laundering for years, which leaves the UK in a tricky situation.

'The amount of Russian money invested by oligarchs in Britain is notoriously hard to track. In 2016 the government put the amount of corrupt money flowing into the UK at £100 billion a year. ... Transparency International said that it had identified property worth £1 billion bought with suspect funds from Russia.'

Which one - PPE? So many billions, it's difficult to see clearly through the red mist of rage! :-| :-| :-|

On the lunchtime news it said up to 19 m, Ann. Who would say ‘We’ll just take 10 m’ when offered up to 19. :-S

Gawd, I am sick of the whole darned lot of them.

Some people seem to lack a moral compass.

Are we writing at cross purposes?

You may be correct Joy…I was just flitting from room to room collecting up the washing this morning I may have misheard :-D

Whatever he intends to give..it could be better spent here in my opinion :-| :-|

I agree, Ann. I am astonished that some of it is to tackle corruption, let alone the increased cost of energy in our own country when we need to find ways of tackling our own energy sources.

Ann, my apologies, I had to come back on here because now I know what you meant when you said 88 million. After reading the latest news I realise that I had misheard 90 as 19.

I’m not sure whether BJ has lost his marbles or whether it’s yet another ploy to take our minds off everything happening at home and his obvious disdain for the general law-abiding public. :-0

Maggie, some of those houses are left empty too as they’re investments.

I know they're left empty, JoyLouise - probably worth more to their owners, being knocked down. :-| :-|
