...and he's 'only' 72 :-D :-D :-D :-D

He's my eldest brother, and I had to work his age out ! :-S
Oh - and he didn't like the phone BT gave him :-D :-D

He wanted a land line, but he's too remote.

When he moaned to our sister about the fact it's a smartphone - she's been the 'go between' because he didn't have the internet, or any phone, so couldn't - you know, contact them (Unless he was in Williton), she told him (after my suggestion) that he just left it in the bl**dy Smithy then - like a landline. :-D :-D :-D :-D
She also pointed out that having the internet has probably increased the value of his property by a few thousand - much more than it's cost him.

We do get on - honest!
But, boy, will he get the wotsit taken out of him next time we see him. :-D

After two years of hassle, and a few thousand pounds, Open Reach has finally connected my brother to the internet!!

In that time, he has single-handedly nearly completed renovating an old Smithy.
He's re-tiled the roof, renovated the ground floor. installed a kiln, changed the windows (to suitably old ones) built half a mezanine floor using old scaffold boards, installed a dormer door and balcony on the roof, installed 2 (eco-friendly) fireplaces, had electricity and water/sewerage removal sorted, lime-mortared between all the stones (though I did half a wall, apparently, I'm a 'natural'), etc
..and designed a beautiful door with stained glass surround.
All done using (where possible - obviously not electricity) reclaimed stuff.
The door and all it's components are there - from a reclamation yard - he just needs permission to install it, as it's visible from the road.

In his 'spare' time, he's been making bonsai pots. :-S
