I think Mr D is wise, Ann.

I caught up with one of my pals today - her Dtr is a nurse in the intensive care ward along the road from where we are and, apparently, it’s full of covid patients again. :-0

It does not take much to fill the ICU’s in UK Joy..sadly. Here in Wales we have I think 151 beds :-0 :-0

They are just cases Pat, they never tell you how many recovered….think it was 31,000 recoveries last week…presuming that is on a 7/10 day basis.

And we’ve had students coming into the town too. Last year the rate zoomed up when the uni year started.

We get told how many new cases, how many in hospital, how many in ICU and how many intubated.

Today's report

One person died and 94 new Covid cases were reported on Sunday, the ministry of health said.

The death means 558 people have died since the start of the pandemic, 354 of whom were men and 204 women.

The latest death refers to a 53-year-old woman who died on Saturday in the Nicosia general hospital.

Meanwhile, there were 60 patients in hospital, 22 of whom are in serious condition.

Of the 22 patients 11 are intubated in ICU and 11 are in high dependency units.

Meanwhile 10 post-Covid patients remain intubated in ICU units.

Of all hospital patients 60 have no history of vaccination.

We do on our local news, Pat, not so much now but certainly last year.

Ann, I do love sorting through figures, statistics and all that kind of thing - when everything is taken into account, of course - I’ll take a good look later.
