Oh yes, travelers usually own their land and it is usually kept tidy.

I am just so interested in how they shake down together

So, the travellers have enough money to buy land.

I find that interesting.

I wonder how many family members will also live in caravans on that property?

Maybe there will some expensive big houses for sale soon.

Travelers regard their land as another tool for making a living, few pigs, horse or two and I am not sure there are not bare knuckle fights being staged on one site.

Not, maybe, what you want next to your expensive bit of landscaping.

Cleaning and gardening is already not what it used to be, I cleaned a house between my paper round and my three hours on the line at the cosmetic factory but two ladies in avan will turn up now from a company to do it.

It will be interesting, because those with extended houses and gardens, are likely to need gardeners and cleaners - and once they've outpriced/bought out any locals, domestics, etc, wil be hard to find.

I was born in this village, as were several previous generations of my family and I have seen a lot of changes in the population profile over the years.

We live in some of the very last social housing in the village and there are very few small family homes left, they have all been bought and either knocked together or extended.

I am quite sorry I won't live to see how the latest changes will pan out. Alongside the expensive, extended homes with gardens that are landscaped rather than productive, we now have more and more pieces of land being bought by travelers.

It is going to be worth watching.
