A fantastic match. <3

Congratulations to both girls

That was one heck of a match. Back and forth, advantage then pulling it back again!

I was exhausted watching it.

Brilliant playing from both girls.

Emma has already had a message from the Queen congratulating her. <3

I didn't watch it as I don't watch Tennis but she seems a lovely young girl with a gorgeous smile and I am pleased that she won.

Sen-sa-tional :-0

I've woken up this morning thinking 'did that really happen' :-D

Congratulations, Emma <3

A new era of women's tennis has begun led by Emma & Leylah, with no grunting ;-) :-D

Emma won .................... 6-4 6-3

Still, it is going to be a good few years of rivalry!

Interesting to note that both Emma AND her opponent Leylah Annie Fernandez were born in Canada 2 months apart, of immigrant parents, and are both multiracial, but I believe that only one is multi-lingual (not Emma).

You may guess which girl I am supporting.

You have probably heard very little of Leylah, but she has been just as amazing (if not more) than Emma. We've heard of both girls.

I'll be watching the tennis tonight on Amazon Prime - I didn't even know we had access to it but apparently my son subscribes to it. I just use Amazon Prime to order things with free delivery and didn't know about the TV bit of it :-D

I think it's The Last Night of the Proms tonight, Von so Auntie Beeb already is committed to that :-D

Oh dear once again I’m the odd one out ;-) ;-) ;-)

Love tennis and just ignore the grunters. I loved hockey too and played club hockey until I married. :-D

Thank you for posting this Belle as I would not have known about channel 4. Would have watched on Amazon ;-)
Shame on BBC could only manage broadcasting on radio 5 :-( :-(

I hated hockey!!!

She has done remarkably well and I hope she continues to do so.

Joan, I rarely watch it now, also having been put off by the grunting - and I was really keen on tennis which I played almost every decent weekday between the ages of 11 and 16/17.

Grunters ought to be penalised is what I think! That would sharp stop them. :-0

I don't watch tennis, either - BUT Emma has been AMAZING! :-D :-D

Thanks, Joan. I think Emma is one of the few female players that doesn't grunt :-D

Emma Raducanu's US Open Final can be watched, free to view, on Channel 4. Pregame coverage starts at 8pm with The Match starting at 9pm this evening.

Channel 4 struck a last minute deal with Amazon who were the only network showing The Match live but it was by subscription in the UK.

Come on Emma!
