I”m in a bit of shock, I have just found myself ( shown as living) on a MEGA tree. My parent was the only sibling to have children and grandchildren added.

The tree owner is somewhat hidden. Creepy.

Where is the tree?

Ancestry.

All the living people are hidden and seem not to be searchable.

I find Ancestry creepy at the best of times!
Sounds like a name collector - or an extremely bad genealogist!

I suppose the person can't be contacted, unless you're a member.

Hi Maggie

I am a member but won’t be contacting them. They have some of my siblings married with children but me and others still appear to be single. Unfortunately I use my real name and I don’t want to a spark off any stalking oops probably mean research. :-)

There was a bloke who decided to do a 'chronology' of my late father in law.
He has my ex's, and his brother's names on there - but not my late mother in law's name. Apparently, as a woman, she's not worthy.
He was on here (Genes) years ago, and had my ex's name, his brother's name, and our children - we don't know who he is - possibly a 3rd cousin quite a bit removed - he just wanted some 'glory' by claiming he was related to ex's dad. :-|
I told him to take all living people off the tree on here - he asked who I was - I told him.

He lives in the USA, but was over here, so we arranged to meet at the Records Office. He thought I would give him more information about the family - he'd heard father in law had a child out of wedlock when he was 19 - and he wanted to know this person's name, and where he was living, where ex and his brother were living, what jobs they were doing etc.
He got nothing - just told to take ALL living people off ALL his trees - and I told him ex's mum's name, when she died and where she was buried.
She's still not on his 'chronology'.

How can we be expected to know our closest relatives. :-P

This person must think they know either me or my siblings as although the siblings of my parent are named there is no indication of their partners. There are no public trees on Ancestry that only show my parents marriage and not those of the siblings.

Some times when I have contacted a tree owner for where our connection is I am told to look for myself as either they are too busy or the tree is too big - and this one is MEGA. So I don’t expect any clues.

I'm always suspicious if someone can't work out a relationship :-|

As far as I'm concerned - living relatives are a no-no.

There's a couple who have (for some reason) my mum's family on their tree.
As soon as my dad died - he was on their tree.
Mum died in Portugal - I'm not sure if they'll ever get her death to get her on their tree - they maybe get suspicious when she's 120, and no death is recorded :-D

Not mega, quite the opposite but puzzling and somewhat annoying - a woman on GR has my parents in her 'tree' somehow but not one of eithers family or names which might have led her to mistakenly claim them. How weird is that! :-S
I've pm'd her twice but the envelope remains closed.

Then there was the person on Ancestry who had attached my mums cousin to the wrong family. They wouldn't budge so I offered to send certs - the tree disappeared from view. :-S

I once came across someone with generations of my mothers paternal line who refused to remove it or correct the mistake because ‘ancestry dropped it into her tree’.

She seemed to be connected to my mother’s maternal line but wouldn’t explain how as it was very complicated :-S

Yesterday when I found this Mega tree I came across someone who I had been in contact with about 3 years ago. Pointed out an error and that I had the document. They said they would go back to the records office. They didn’t, So now there is a entry on the comments section.
