Greenmount Industrial School - Cork Ireland 1918 - 1923

Hi there, My Grandfather Francis Patrick Flanagan DOB : 23/06/1907 and his older brother Patrick John Flanagan DOB: 20/01/1906 were sent from Stradbally, Queen's County magistrates.to St Josephs Green Mount Industrial School , Cork on 21st December 1918. They were not released until their 16th birthday.

The Presentation brothers ( Catholic brothers who ran the Industrial school told me their crime was larceny. Held under Section 58 ( 3 ) - Childrens act we think. We would love to find the official magistrates records from 21st December 1918. Francis Flanagan was released 22nd June 1923. Patrick John 19th January 1922.
