..this from an article on getting rid of maggots and flies in waste bins:

3. Clean, clean, clean

Keeping your bin as clean and fresh smelling as possible will deter flies from laying their eggs.

Use white vinegar or vodka to clean as these are natural deterrents to flies.


Why not just drink the Vodka and then you won't worry about the maggots and flies! cheaper too.

Just make sure you don't mix the bottles up after a few swigs though...expecting Vodka getting vinegar yuck....
