Just called the police

My widowed neighbour who is in her eighties and partially sighted, rang me in one hell of a stae because she had found a set of house keys on her landing and she was frightened,

She rang her son and he just shouted at her so it was me again.

I am trying to isolate as much as I can in time for the big saw so I rang the police and sent OH round.

So, while I am finally talking to an officer, he is going upstairs and finding the keys to her stair-lift, the one that stood idle for three years until I got the repairs moving, on her landing.

Neighbours, nobody wants my neighbours!

I wonder if the biblical Samaritans had the same problems?

:-D :-D :-D

Oh dear.
Has she actually used the stairlift since you had it repaired?

Sharron

Sharron Report 3 Jul 2021 12:02

Yes, she had used it.

In fact, it is how I know she is alright every morning. I hear her stair- lift clonk on the corner as she goes downstairs.

She has a big problem with dealing with authority and didn't know who to contact about the repair. It was only matter of luck that she mentioned that it wasn't working. she had been going up and down stairs on feet she can't feel and steps she couldn't see.

Is she okay now?

She is, thank you.

I think it so important to be available because silly little things can become huge to somebody who can't deal with them

She's lucky she's got you and OH <3

I am sure that anybody would do it.

You've never had neighbours like my sister has, and like I had until I moved! :-(

To be honest, Maggie, she has not been the dream neighbour over the years but i know how i thought of her in those times and am not prepare to sink to that level myself.

It is not as if I would gain any more than she did.
