Sylvia

Yes we know it’s not possible even in the near future but we are hoping I will make it whilst I still have some mobility and health to do so

At the moment too am still recovering from the total knee replacement surgery and only been out three times in the last two weeks and that was for hospital and chiro and the essential hair appointment !

Sister is 71 and has only just her second jab

I have had both mine earlier in the year

We speak every Sunday so keep in touch but it would have been nice to have had our visit and trip

Hey ho ,we will do it some day we hope :-D

I think some people are desperate to get that tan that they think you only get "abroad".

We haven't seen our family since December 27 2019, and it doesn't look like we will get to see them before this coming December at least ........ and they live in the same country as I do. So that will be almost 2 years

I have little patience listening to others who complain after a couple of months! ;-)

If I have to fly, we go either Premium or Business Class, not to show off but because I need the extra space. I'm almost crippled by the time we arrive anywhere if we go in the cheaper seats.

I honestly think that anyone who travels out of their own zone at the moment is tempting fate ............ we don't even go outside Vancouver.

Shirley .......... I'm sorry but you wouldn't even be allowed into Canada at the moment. You wouldn't fit the category or returning Canadian or making an "essential" visit, so you wouldn't qualify for an entry visa. Plus there have been a few suggestions that Canada might close entry from the UK, as the US has done, until you get this new "wave" or whatever under closer control.

It may have been inappropriate what Matt did but it doesn't make him bad at his job, also it is wrong to snoop and take photos of people when you are operating a cctv cameras.

Matt has Bojo's full backing, so his days are numbered.

I've never liked airports because of the herding, crowds and hanging around with all sorts. Likewise I am wary of cruises, or any other activity involving crowds.
However, the sort of holiday we take in France in our campervan is, I feel, much like being at home. We cross via the Tunnel and don't leave the 'van. Don't socialise on campsites. Pop briefly into shops or supermarkets for supplies. Don't go in cafes, though might sit outside an odd time. Spend our time cycling, walking or reading. So no more contacts than at home.
Wish I was there now....

I certainly can't see the attraction of going abroad at the moment - especially if the green country you are visiting goes back to amber while you are away - but then I never go abroad anyway so it makes no difference to me ;-)

I agree Dermot - I'm sure Matt Hancock would like to be anywhere but here today. I feel a bit sorry for Matt as I think he's worked his socks off over the last 15 months or so but people who give us the rules really should follow them themselves.

Maddie Report 25 Jun 2021 14:02

seeing the prices of some holidays - eyewatering
and the risk getting caught abroad if things change you must be desperate

i really sympathise with those who want to see family, i had to wait over a year to see mine and they live here, a few more weeks waiting should make all a bit safer

Matt Hancock might like to go abroad for a little holiday - on his own, of course. . :-\

It is not all about having a holiday…people are desperate to Fly to see family. As for catching and spreading the virus…is there more of a risk going to a green light country or visiting your local Sainsbury’s at home….who knows
:-)

Not me

My sister who lives in Canada has wanted me to go for a month to hers and the middle two weeks we would take a Hawaiian cruise

It’s been cancelled since 2019 but we still hope to make it when the time and safety is right :-D

Probably.

Are people really that desperate to go on holiday that they will risk catching COVID 19 or spreading it when they get back?
