i'm getting really fed up with ancient words being hijacked and erased when it has nohing to do with race

Black is a color which results from the absence or complete absorption of visible light. It is an achromatic color, without hue, like white and gray.[1] It is often used symbolically or figuratively to represent darkness.[2] Black and white have often been used to describe opposites such as good and evil, the Dark Ages versus Age of Enlightenment, and night versus day. Since the Middle Ages, black has been the symbolic color of solemnity and authority, and for this reason is still commonly worn by judges and magistrates.[2]

i really don'y know whether to laugh or cry

I do sometimes ask my Ovambo friend, Vilbard , what colour he is at the moment. He has lived with legal apartheit and finds it all a bit amusing.

His daughter stayed with us and we took her to a social club where I was later accused of being racist (!) because I called her black when they felt it was 'naicer' to say coloured, which is a quite different kind of person. In Namibia, Himba, Ovambo , Herero and others are black while Basters and, I think, Cape Coloureds, are, indeed, coloured.

Those things in space must be holes of colour at the moment.
