Maggie

Yes it was lucky

She stayed with me for 4 weeks post op but then I needed to try and do for myself

She rings me several times a week and has been over or her partner has, to do what I need
Today was the hairdresser and anything else I needed

Next Tuesday she is taking me to hospital for the follow up appointment and Thursday for my hair

I am lucky to have family who look out for me

Yes I have

Seems it possible battery problems

Had new ones put in two years ago with shelf life 2 to 5 years depending on use

Well I have needed it daily for two plus years especially as surgery was cancelled several times

Soo fingers crossed it will get fixed on Monday

Have tried to get upstairs on foot and it’s very slow but once up I need to do everything needed before coming down again

Aids are great and you get to rely on them and not think they will fail so when they do it’s help !!! ;-)

Shirley, have you tried Googling the Make to see whether there are any troubleshooting questions/answers for it? :-)

Thanks Bob

I really rely on it TBH

My knee is really locked up and stiff when i get out of bed
Sometimes it’s a wonky dash to the bathroom and hope to make it

Got raised loo seats and frames to assist getting on and off!,

Granddaughters partner put some grab handles on the landings so I can manage a few stairs

Been managing ok but now no stairlift is omg ! :-(

Soo hubby got very dodgy on his balance and grandson told him not to be a stubborn old git cos Nan is worried you will fall downstairs

He listened and it was all systems go to decorate and new carpet and stairlift installed

He only used it for six months but I kept it in on the basis I may need it after he passed

Well for two years I have used it, had it checked over and then one time need new batteries which I had done

Soo today granddaughter took me to the hairdresser to get a dye test pre appointment next week

We then changed my bed and granddaughter hoovered as I’m not able to do yet

So came down on the stairlift and it stopped before the bottom that keeps the battery charged

Granddaughter tried everything even manually getting it to charge point but nope

So now I have to try to manage the stairs for a couple of days

She has managed to get a repairer out for Monday who thinks it’s a battery problem

Soo stairlifts great till they let you down :-|
