Sharron

Sharron Report 31 May 2021 15:08

I don't usually wear tights or socks under my jeans and usually wear the same pair of trainers, favouring slip-ons whenever possible.

This last pair, I have been wearing for a couple of years of years, I think. I bought them in a sale, naturally, so they owe me nothing nut we have been together for so long.

Yesterday, they rubbed my toe sore.

The time has come for us to part. I know I could buy some time by wearing socks but I feel just like I would if a dear old, trusted dog or, indeed, OH, had savaged me!

I have another pair to wear but life will never be he same again. My pale purple trainers have had their day.

Bung them on an 'upcycling' site - someone would make panty liners out of them I'm sure.

My deepest sympathy. There has been a lot of this happening in my life lately. :-(

We have been cursed!

As Private Frazier would say “we’re all dooomed”.

Sharron

Sharron Report 31 May 2021 15:39

Of course, you are only going to need one trainer aren't you? You might be able to use the good bits out of this pair to make yourself one.

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 31 May 2021 15:42

:-D :-D :-D

But will you be able to see which is the good bit

Sharron

Sharron Report 31 May 2021 15:55

I will send them both to you if I can find the hole in the letter box to put them in and then you can hop down the Post Office and pick them up.

You might even have enough left for a couple of panty liners!

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 31 May 2021 16:26

There are enough problems without needing panty liners as well. :-|

:-D :-D

Sharron

Sharron Report 31 May 2021 16:29

Depending on how far up they go with your foot, you might not even need panty liners.

nameslessone Report 31 May 2021 16:42

Ouch!

You can push my wheelbarrow and I’ll you where to go :-D

Sharron

Sharron Report 31 May 2021 16:56

This is not a joke. My great uncle could hardly see, he carried on driving and his wife told him when they were coming up to a corner and when to slow down.

I suppose you will tell me when we are coming up to a corner. I can promise you will never need to tell me to slow down!

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 31 May 2021 17:04

Slow down, not with me in the wheelbarrow.

When an very elderly family member said 'bye boys' ( one was wearing a little summer dress) the family were eventually persuaded that he ought to give up driving. This was a long time ago when there were boys and girls.

Sharron

Sharron Report 31 May 2021 17:38

Much depends on how much is left when they have finished.

Do you think I would be allowed to take your wheelbarrow on the bus?

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 31 May 2021 17:41

If it was an old London double decker you could probably shove me in the luggage cubbyhole under the stairs.

If it was an old Southdowns single decker then didn't they have roofracks?

Sharron

Sharron Report 31 May 2021 18:04

I could cover you with one of those blankets they had in the little cupboard things they had over the seats.

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 31 May 2021 18:17

I don’t remember those but I did find a picture of an old Southdown bus (No 12) that had a luggage rack on top. Proof at last that I’m not going mad. ;-) :-D

Caroline

Caroline Report 31 May 2021 18:36

We have bike racks on the front of our buses could you maybe hold on tight there with or without the wheelbarrow??

Sharron

Sharron Report 31 May 2021 18:41

Why did you find a picture of a Southdown bus? I always thought they looked like budgies.

Where would we put the wheelbarrow then? We will need it for when we get off or are you thinking of her being like the dolly on the dustcart and riding forever on the bike rack?

nameslessone

nameslessone Report 31 May 2021 18:48

We’d have to get me and the wheelbarrow up the ladder on the back and then I could sit in the luggage area waving to the admiring crowds like a carnival queen :-D
