They may do what Ancestry is supposed to do then, I saw comments about the fact they find the deaths in family announcements etc.. Much like what happened post 1997 on the 1937 Register, they apparently tried to tie announcement to people. Whether it's true or not they all got the info from somewhere and it seems intermittent.

My mother's death wasn't on either Ancestry or FMP until reasonable recently, but I've seen deaths past the year she died before mum's was published

Same here re mum Pat but still not on FMP.
The death register isn't on FMP from 2007 so could well be guess work. Goodness knows were they got my dads incorrect birth year from. Not good.
