Clearly an error on their part but how much other incorrect information is on there?

Should I tell them? ...... Can I be bothered to as they tend to think they are infallible?

That's why I always like to look at an image or an original.....at the end of the day a transcript is only as good as a transcriber :-0

Oddly Belle, they don't have my mothers death reg, same place but 3 years earlier so I wonder where they fished their wrong information from?
I know my dads dates and have the certs - even went to the funeral ;-) I was looking up his grandad of the same name and birth place to double check his birth date - he was quite a bit older than me LOL

If it has been transcribed wrong you tell them, if it has been registered at GRO wrong it's a GRO problem.

Just to make you smile, every year my Dad said he was 37, when my sisters wished me a happy 37th birthday I said do you realise Dad and me are the same age now. :-D

This would only be as good as the information given by the person registering the death. If someone lied about their age who was to know what the correct age might be. ;-) ;-)

As Von pointed out, no d.o.b's on death reg since 1954 - my dad hadn't been born then, according to FMP - so no one can check that way.
