Liverpool to Llandudno?

I can remember watching it on the TV Joy...I must have been about 13 at the time. I also remember one of my teachers discussing the situation.
:-(

Afternoon Von and Ann. <3 :-D

Ann, although I knew the story (we had it pointed out to us on one of our visits) there was a tv programme about it a few years ago which I found intriguing. No wonder we weren't in the good books for a long time. Now, it seems as though there's been a mass exodus from Liverpool to Llandudno! :-0

Afternoon Fly. <3 :-D

Liverpool got its water from North Wales at one time, Pat. It may still do so as far as I know but I certainly haven't checked. :-D

I always thought Liverpool water was softer (great for hair washing but not for drinking) and Durham had hard but lovely drinking water until someone told me that none of Britain's water was hard compared to other countries.

It's surprising how many people I know who have filter taps or jugs though.

The wet west of our little island is affected by the Gulf Stream while the East 'benefits' from northerlies from the frozen north so is usually a darned sight colder! Just thinking outside the box, which region (apart from Emma's land) has the biggest sales of thermals? :-D :-0

I was once having my birthday party in a restaurant 2 villages away from here - about 4 miles away. I was just getting ready and we got a phone call from the restaurant - do we want to still eat outside, confused we said yes of course, it was a warm night.

The floor as we got to the village was wet. Water was running down gullies. When we got to the restaurant we saw the trees were dripping and water was still running down the guttering. They had had a violent storm and our village had been bathed in sunshine. :-D

Wales has always had lots of rain, shh don't tell them but that's why the West Midlands get their water from Wales - it's a sore point with the Welsh.
