Can't have bread or Mars bar but cream and butter are OK. No BYO is always best Joy.

Fly, I think I posted ages ago what sort of delightful lunches we used to take to school during summer term in my teens which was the only time my Mum used to allow me to forego school dinners - which I always enjoyed too.

Fly Report 11 Feb 2021 10:57

Very rare we had a school lunch :-)

JoyLouise Report 11 Feb 2021 11:05

Never stayed for 'school dinners' at primary level but too far to get home and back at lunchtime after that. The four of us who still lunch together were companions from the age of 11 and only two of us lived near each other.

We had bikes and a lot of freedom in our teens but none of us rode to school - two of them would have had to be up and out very early so were grateful for the school buses.

Some very happy memories as no doubt we all have. <3 :-D

Morning Von. <3 :-D

Von, you won't be surprised to know that I am not the artist that Jen is. I gave up dom science first and after a year of my art teacher tearing up my efforts and stamping on them (eccentric old biddy), I ended up dropping art too so did extra French lessons - another subject (along with Geog) that I actually liked.

Going to take a guess myself - algebra and ..... as soon as, if not an arts subject ??? :-D

JoyLouise

JoyLouise Report 11 Feb 2021 11:43

I was good at arithmetic and algebra but less so at geometry, Pat.

Still my first and last occupations relied on my bookkeeping and accounts diploma. I amazed myself, even! It goes a long way to showing how good our teacher was. :-D

I wasn't so good at geometry - all those theorems :-(

My last job was teaching manual and computerised payrolls.
