There is a long history of Ancestry trees being unreliable. One being that if enough people copy the mistake into their tree then that mistake becomes correct.

Retrace your own research. Where you know you differ follow theirs too to see who is right.

A lot of work. good luck.

I am chasing a line of my husband's family tree for Early (then Earley) back to about 1612 BUT checking with other people's trees on Ancestry I seem to either have put in an additional generation (all having the name Stephen) or the other familes have taken out/lost a generation and not having a couple of names of wives it has made it difficult for me to add correctly to my tree line.
I have Stephen Earley b 1612 his son Stephen Earley b 1640 with wife (for me) Rose Froud, then his son Stephen T Early b 1660 (all around Ringwood Hampshire) One of the Stephens was married to a Hannah but no other details available to confirm for sure which one or whether it was a second wife. then I have his son Joseph Early b 1714 with wife Mary Peck/Peek
All the searches I have managed to do have not made things clearer or enabled me to see whether I am wrong or the other trees are incorrect. They do not give references either.
Thank you in advance
