I have been to Wigan Pier.

Just thought that little find might help somebody who had connections to Wigan. Sometimes a little things like that can have great resuts.

Lots of rellies from and buried in Wigan.

A few years ago OH and I toured Lancashire places and everyone we met and spoke with was very friendly.

We were well impressed by everyone we spoke with, especially in Wigan because they made me feel right at home.

Also, a special big thank you to the ladies in All Saints, Wigan, where we were offered coffee etc. What a lovely bunch they were, everyone was helpful and welcoming.

We plan on touring the area again, taking in even more sites, so impressed were we with the people.

We were so fortunate that perhaps it is enough for me to say I really do like Wigan people. We never met a dud! <3

Thank you for that.
I have just found a member of my extended family.
Helpfully, it gave his occupation on the burial listing, which helped to confirm it is the right chap.

Will look for more, when I'm not supposed to be sleeping.......

While I was looking for something else equally obscure, I came across a site called 'Wigan World' which has indeces for the Wigan cemetaries.

It is of no use to me but I thought somebody on here might find it useful.

It does have a 1925 cookery book on it which is much more my line.
