We were pleased when our own surgery rang which is what we'd been expecting as our pals who have had the jab got a phone call from their local surgery too.

I have no idea why letters are being sent out - which is how we and my poorly pal received the call to book. All I can think is that as the govt had opened up big centres like the Nightingale they wanted people to use them before any local centres. It makes no sense to me at all.

Anyway, is everyone OK?

Von, I watched all of Bridgerton. It was good and I believeanother series is being made.

I've a feeling Von that all those that I mentioned said they had a text too.....funnily enough I was going to ask you whether you had a text :-) I know definately four did :-)

I was lucky because my surgery texted me to offer appointments at two sites. One was

fairly close so chose that. I got a text confirming time and date just after I booked it

then another reminder yesterday.
However the letter telling me to book arrived a week after I had booked my

appointment :-0 :-0 :-0

Shame that Joy :-(

I know of at least six people who have been offered vaccinations and they have been impressed with the organisation before and when they were vaccinated :-)

Mext Monday morning for us.

I must say I was unimpressed with the NHS 'approved sites' when I rang the number in the letter. Eventually she came up with the Nightingale Hospital some miles away and I know they are vaccinating nearer.

I told her I would try online when she said that her number only offered larger vaccination sites. (They didn't because I remember two pharmacies were on - which leads me to think that some areas are not distributing vaccines very well and government, having opened large sites wants to utilise them as much as possible.).

Oldest brother has just rung telling me that he has just managed to get a jab appointment for Monday afternoon, after I had told him his local pharmacy was on the list.

First I rang the docs only to feel guilty because the recorded message had not changed, ie don't ring the surgery, you will be contacted - so I quickly rang off.

It was the same choice online though. However, when we'd decided to go for ithe Nightingale and I was in the midst of booking Sunday for both of us, our own surgery rang and asked us if we'd like to be vaccinated so we are going on Monday to our local hub (of which our doctor is a member) - not our surgery but nearer than sites offered by NHS online and 119.

I rang my wheelchair-bound pal who told me that her OH (almost 80) had gone online when they got their letters yesterday and he'd been offered sites in Manchester and Bristol - they live in Durham and his current illness prevents him from driving. He then rang the doctor who told them that either their village or the next one to them are expecting to have supplies next week.

Such a crazy situation made even worse when someone at the other end of a phone or who has written a computer program thinks Durham is near enough to Bristol for a sick 80-year-old to get to.

Better organisational skills are needed methinks.
