Just to say that because he tested positive again does not necessarily mean he has the disease again I have read before that people who have it can test positive after testing negative but it doesn't mean the disease is active it means it is still in the body. Doctor said he would not be infectious. but who knows. He is poorly anyway so difficult to tell if it is affecting him.

Two weeks ago my daughter who works at home got a call from college where her stepson goes three days a week to say come and collect him because a classmate had tested positive

She was what ? They only went back yesterday

They wouldn’t give details but grandson said the boy behind him was crying because he was unwell

Daughter was annoyed at why would parents send a youngster to college if he was unwell especially as a test takes 48 hours for a result

Sooo she collected him and 4 days later they were both tested. Fortunately both results came up negative

Daughter is vulnerable because her immune system is compromised from chemo treatment for Hodgkin’s lymphoma

I agree, JustGinnie - what do the likes of Hancock, Gove and Johnson ('I visited a hospital covid ward and shook hands with everyone') know about pandemics?

Come to that - how was Cummings' (a non-elected puppet controller) attendance at SAGE meetings affecting the outcome in the early months?
He obviously thought he was 'above' anyone else and decided he could do what he wanted, which was true, as he was kept on.
Eventually sacked for giving Carrie a nickname, as if THAT was pertinent to the pandemic!

When I said experts I wasn't meaning the scientists ( should have explained myself better) I meant all those that pop up on various talk shows who all seem to know that things aren't being done properly but have no idea what should be done. or so it seems to me. Personally I believe the Government should be following the science by listening to the scientists. However there are those that have said that other scientists disagree . How are the general public, like me and OH, with no medical/scientific knowledge what so ever decide who or what is right.

I wouldn't trust Gove on anything ever.

Swings and roundabouts, " over 17,000 cases weren’t reached by NHSTT, and only around 60% of the contacts of identified cases are being reached (based on 85% of cases reached, and 73% of their identified contacts),"

I also think the scientists DO know what we should do, but they're overruled by the Government.
For example, in April, the scientists said we should lockdown - Government disagreed - we didn't.
In September, scientists advised another full lockdown. The Government, instead, decided to invent a 'Tier' system - and send children back to school.
Scientists advised no mixing at Christmas - the Government disagreed, until the day after MP's had left Parliament for their second or third homes, (handy, that!) then Johnson moved the goalposts.
Gove is currently stating that schools will go back in January (but Parliament won't), scientists are saying that children shouldn't go back until February.

It sounds like it may be counted twice and I am not sure if we can trust all the figures anyway.

There do seem to be experts coming out of the woodwork nearly all with differing ideas of what we should do.

Hope your OH is recovering and will soon be home.

So sorry to hear T has tested positive again. I’m beginning to loose faith in any of the

numbers.

I wonder how often this happens to mess up the figures.

My OH tested positive for Covid , didn't have many symptoms and tested negative after 14 days. doctor said he was no longer infectious but not to be surprised if he subsequently tested positive again, he would still not be infectious. (He caught it in hospital so was in hospital when he tested negative). I had a phone call this morning from NHS Test and Trace, well actually they asked to speak to my husband, after a long conversation they agreed it was pointless me answering questions if I had not seen OH for 7 weeks ( since going into hospital.

There are two things here. Why on earth don't they have some indication on the form of the patient being in hospital when they caught it.

And if Test and trace have been informed, does that mean his incidence of Covid has been reported twice?

If this is happening all over the country, how can we believe the figures.
